There was a Remedy amp at the local music store and I tried it out through a CAE 1x12. Great tone as everyone says, but wow is that thing loud. Even on the 20 watt setting it's insanely loud. For this to function in a home environment I'd need an Air Brake for sure, but I'm wondering how much the tone will suffer, and if this is really an amp for home use at all.

I went with a Brake Lite and installed it the back of my 1-12 convertible cab..........absolutely does the trick. You can definately use the Remedy for home use with the attenuator. Setting 1-3 on the Brake Lite will not colour your tone, but 4 does sound a little more compressed. The Brake Lite is also half the price of an Airbrake.

I run my Remedy through a Brake Lite on '2' and it does the trick for me at home. It ain't quiet, but tames it down to a usable level.

Thanks, glad to find this amp can be used at home. I'll have to look into the Air Brake and Brake Lite.

The Brake Lite works fine with the Remedy. It's less expensive than the Airbrake. The Airbrake has higher power handling -- BL limit is 45 watts per Z web site -- so you'd be able to use it with any amp.
