Can anybody tell me how the Keeley Java boost works with the 66? Wanted to get some input first before getting one.

I don't know about the Java, but I have a ZVex Box of Rock and the boost on that is great with the 66. If you don't need the distortion, you could just get the SHO.
Of course, you asked about the Java Boost, so you can just ignore me if that is what you're really after. ;D

I have heard the SHO and BOR mentioned before for the 66. I just figured because the 66 is on thicker tone side a treble boost like the java would work well for leads.

Well I don't have any experience with the Java but as it is Germanium based I think it will sound spectacular with the 66 for those vintage tones. I have something similar, a Tonefactor Hellbilly which I use closer to a fuzz than an actual treble boost but the germanium based pedals just sound so fat and warm with the 66. For what it's worth, the guy I bought my Hellbilly from also had the Java, said they were similar but liked the Java a little better so he kept that and sold the Hellbilly to me! He was running into a Carman Ghia though so it's a total different Kettle of fish. But I'm betting you'll dig it. Mmmmm, why am I craving coffee! ;D

Hmmmm, interesting, Java boost into a Carmen Ghia? I've always thought the Java boost was suited to a bigger powered head,I've considered getting one when I get my KT45 eventually but just might get one a little earlier. I owned a Fulltone Soulbender for a little while but didn't really like it with my Ghia just preferring to use the Fulldrive 2 instead.

Actually the Java Boost sounds best when run into an amp beginning to break up. The sound of the pedal is actually not particularly pleasant. It has some gain when turned up that does not sound so good clean. It is designed to push your already breaking up amp into nice overdrive territory.
I would think the keeley Java into the Ghia might give you very close to a Brian May sort of overdrive.
I also think Clapton used one into his Beano Combo and is part of that classic sound too. I would thing the Route 66 and Keeley would match that pretty close.
