I got the Weber Bias Rite, some Saratov KT66's and a 5U4 rectifier from Philips. Sounds great. A little quieter then with the GZ-34 so I can really crank it up to get good overdrive going.
One thing I noted:
When I first turned on the Bias Probe and took the amp out of standby, I was able to bias the tubes to 36.2 and 37.8 respectively. I left the amp on for about 10-15 mintues and when I came back the tubes were 34.9 and 37.7. So one tube dropped down while the other remained almost identical. Any explanation for this?
The most difficult thing was getting the chassis back in the head. The bolt on the right behind the transformer was hard to get the nut on. Worked out ok though.

I don't know about the change in bias, but I feel your pain about the nut/bolt behind the transformer, that's a real pisser to assemble.

Takes 20 minutes or so for those big ol 66's to reach operating temperature, therefore the drop in temperature...at least thats the way I see it. Must be an oldie (Gold Face?) if you have the nut issue...and yes, it's a royal pain......therefore no longer built that way ;^)
Does the front valance not pull off? Look and see, from the back (or inside) see if there are screw heads visible where the valance "attaches", if not it should just pull off.

All tubes even if it's matched pair may not be exactly the same.

It has the aniversary sticker on the back. It is black with salt/pepper grill, but it has the non-detachable power chord.
