Does anyone use a Klon through the Route 66?
I got a Klon the other day (waiting list, not ebay - I'm pretty patient when it comes to saving money) and I was wondering if anyone here used the Klon through a Route 66.
If so, what settings (on amp and Klon) do you use?
Just looking for some ideas. Thanks.

I don't currently own a Route 66 or Klon but have had experience with both. The Klon and the 66 are a nice match; highly interactive and very versatile. It depends on how you plan on using the amp. If you are cranking the Route 66 for overdrive, I would not use the gain on the Klon. Just use the volume past 12:00 for kicking the front end of the 66 and vary the tone knob for taste. The Klon with the gain on will add some nice harmonics and more gain to the amp, but it can get a little spitty for my tastes. If you are running the 66 clean and need some grit, you'll will have to run the gain up on the Klon, but beware, the voice of the amp will change. Its a decent, usable tone for low volume applications, but not the best sound possible from that amp and pedal. The Klon is however worth every penny into the front end of that amp with the amp cranked, just spectacular! The Klon is also awesome as a clean boost, post-distortion pedal into a clean Route 66 as well. Just my .02's!!

I had the Klon for a while and I used it to hit the front end of the amp for a nice gritty tone.

Thanks for the input. I'll play around with it a little more tonight.
I only have my amp at about 9:00. Any louder than that, and I can't be in the same room. haha.
Last night, I had the Klon set at: Gain: 1:00 Treble: 3:00 Output: 12:00
The Klon is the "thickest" sounding pedal I've ever heard. You click it on and it sounds like you're playing through 2 or 3 cranked tube amps at the same time.

I am glad you like it. You must be a better player than me, cause I could never get it to sound good for me with the gain up that high. :-) Bill Finnegan sure makes a nice pedal!!!

I doubt I'm a better player. haha. But I'm now using it as my main OD, so the gain really adds the thickness. It sounds really full.

I use the Klon with route 66 and think they go together great. I agree with earlier poster that best use is with the route 66 already getting some good grind, then use the Klon to boost the output with the gain at noon or earlier. As you turn the Klon's gain up you will hear a mid-range frequency started to be accented. You can experiment to see how much/little of this you want.
