;D Well, I've read these threads for some time, & thought I'd share w/the world: I purchased my first Z , the EZG 50, a few weeks ago. It's exactly what I wanted (how rare). I play a Telecaster w/ minimal to no effects. I wanted a loud, somewhat clean, amp that can grit up w/out the major tube compression. I really enjoy playing this amp. There have been various descriptions on it's sound (most were very helpful), so all I can say is full, rich & organic. And loud.
I've been running it thru a cheap Crate 1x12" w/a Celestion 100 watt, & it still sounded great, but I have a Z 1x12" w/ the Heritage 65 on order. Looking forward to the new year w/this amp...

zoombieZ is right on the mark. You will really be impresed when you get the cab. I have and have had other Zs. and I think this may be my favorite one.

Plus 1 on the G12H65 112 cab combination. Great with the EZG! Welcome!

If you can try it with a Z-Best you'll be floored, especially with a Tele. The 4X10 is cool too.

Man, so many cabs! I'd love to have both 4x10 & Z Best, but after much consideration, it seemed more versatile/feasable to use a 1x12" on smaller stages where it's crowded, then drop a mic on it for bigger gigs. (It also fits in my car easier!!) One quick note...I read where the EZG barely sits on the Z Best when the cab is sitting vertically. Any input out there? I do like 12s...

I don't like the way the EZG-50 sits on a vertically oriented Z-Best 2x12 cab- but you can always put it on its side. Also, I use the EZG-50 through a Z 1x12 cabinet w/ a Heritage 65 speaker- it rocks! I will say though that if you want more overall volume and headroom, running the EZG through a 2x12, 4x10 or 4x12 is the way to go. But since it sounds like volume is an issue sometimes for you (it is for me too) the 1x12 can actually be better. Less perceived volume, easier breakup, and smaller gear to lug around. Cheers!

Thanks for the info. Actually, lower headroom is fine with me, so now I'm really jones-ing for this cab! I did order the Heritage 65, so looks like I made a good choice. I have found a pretty good deal on a Z Best, so I may pick that up down the road. The older I get, the more I love just plugging into a good (in this case, great) amp & playing. Also, I've read on Z-Talk! where the SRZ 65 sounds good thru this same speaker. Not that I'm planning on buying one anytime soon, but...
