Hi all. I am wanting to put a 50 watt Weber Silver Bell in a 1x12 cab for a Dr. Z Route 66, but I need help deciding between AlNiCo vs. Ceramic magnets. Is the $75 difference really worth the AlNiCo? I play mainly blues-rock to rock and alternative music with a Strat.

Generally alnico is warmer and breaks up sooner. Both speakers have great tone, just decide how much headroom you want. A lot of blues players like alnico but that is not a rule, just an observation.

You probably want the ceramic if you're going anywhere near alternative. You need that punch the ceramic gives you. If you were mainly going towards the low down dirty blues side of life the alnico might be better with compression, break up, etc...
That said, it would also depend on how hard you push the amp, how high you keep the volume turned up or whether you use an attenuator. IMO to get the most out of the alinco you need to push it...
