I bought some GEC KT66's on ebay a few weeks ago...I wanted to try them out in the Rt66. However when I removed the existing power tubes I found that the base did not have the conventional base with a locating slot making the replacement of a valve idiotproof....I had to remove the amp from the box and line up the pins to find the proper location....has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you get around it?

I guess once you find out what the proper pin order is, you can always use a marker and draw a little guide for yourself on the base of the tube.
