I set out to get gtkt66hp's , but settled on kt66 russian tubes from dougs tubes. My question is how do you know how much voltage the tube can handle. It seems the amp was set to run hot on the gtKt66's Iam wondering how to set the bias on the new ones. Iam sure there is a link somewhere, I had a tech set the bias wrong on a marshall 900 back in the 90's and there was a slight melt down so I really don't trust the local amp techs around here because of that.
thanks

Which Russian ones? If they are from the "Saratov" factory then they are the same as the GT KT66HP and they can take up to 500V on the plate, however, Route 66 puts 450V on the plate so you're good anyway. Anywhere between 32-38mA bias should be good, adjust to taste.
