Newbie Alert! I recently bought a Rt66 head over on The Gear Page, and I am really excited to join the Z family. I am trying to determine which speaker would be best for my situation. I play in small/med sized bars to 1000 seat + church mic'd. I also do a bit of recording as well. I am looking for a portable yet toneful cab for my rt66. I want to be able to open up the rt66 a bit without causing to many soundguy problems. I wouldlove to knock a few pedals off my board and really on the monster tones of the rt66. I do plan to buy a z best 2X12 down the road for my larger gigs Thanks for looking.

I have two 1x12 cabinets which works well since you can use or bring one cab for small venues and two cabinets for larger ones. Easier to haul around. You need to think about what sounds best to you with the 66, closed or open back cabinets.

I've Z-best cab and I'm in love with that sound. It's perfect for large and open stage, but I must recognize in small clubs it's too much. One solution for me is Aribrake, so I can cranck up the amp the way I like without hearing loss... But I'm curios, I would try a 1x12 cab, for those small clubs.

There is a 12" silver bell for sale in the BST section. Sounded awesome with my RT 66......

I used mine with a single 50w alnico blue when I had the 66. The only pedal I used was an RC Booster and it turned the 66 into a monster. No need for compressors or anything like that, just hit the front end hot w/ a booster & work your guitar volume knob.

After the holidays I am looking to sell a few of my OD pedals for an RC booster. I am looking for to less top tapping and more playing...
