I have been using my effects board with my Remedy scince I bought it months ago. Now that I have a Z-best Cab I wanted to hear the guitar straight into the Remedy with no effects and wow what a difference. I tested it out this way at church for a couple of services and the tone was thick sounding clear bell tones and warm lush lead tones just beautiful sounds and all I was using was my Strats volume and tone controls.
I have always been a huge stomp box user and have to admit I like effects however with the Remedy you don't really need any effects maybe just a delay.
Even my oldest son said he thought the tone was better. The Remedy has been the best amp investment I have made in years. The craftmanship and the build quality is second to none. I did my research on this amp and have to admit it exceeded my expectations. Great amp it can go from clean to mean at your finger tips.. ;D

Oh man, I'm so torn whether to go the Remedy or the Stangray as my second amp. Both have their merits with me. I really need both. But both is a long term thing. But I should be able to get one soon.
This post is just adding to my confusion! ;D

My favorite sound thus far with the Remedy is straight in, no fx, full-power. From the first time I tried one thru a Z-best to more recent play-time usin' an older 112 z-cab I've really enjoyed it. Some of my pedals are gettin' a lil' bit dusty and my other Z amps are a lil' bit jealous. But do try a Flying Dragon or a Draconis - lotsa goodness goin' on While 99% of my play-time is with dual 'bucker guitars, I'd love to try me some P90s or single coils for kicks ;D Clean to mean? Yes. Remedy or Stangray as a second amp? No. Either one is a first-call amp or in a perfect world, grab 'em both and run 'em together (purty much applies to the Z catalogue in general imho) cheers always, eh Joel

Yeah Tas...if you're wondering about a second amp...being either a Remedy or a Stangray...I'd have to say it depends on what you want to do with it. They are vastly different amps.
If you want to PM me with questions...I've had a Route 66, and I have a Remedy and a Stangray, so I can hopefully answer them.

I couldn't agree more! I used the remedy at rehearsal and just realized pretty much straight away that i didn't anything imbetween, it's all about the dynamics! My rig now is just my JAZ 20/40, my remedy and an AB box

Straight in is just great with any decent -- doesn't need to be expensive -- guitar. The tone stack and dual volumes cover a lot of ground. Most responsive (to guitar volume and tone adjustments) amp I have.
Great amp to pair with a MAZ, and I bet the JAZ / Remedy tandem is awesome.

I own a Remedy and my friend has a Stang Ray. Both are amazing amps but you can hardly crank the Stang Ray loud enough to get natural overdrive like the Remedy does. However, if you use pedal the Stang Ray will deliver.

Thanks to all of you who responded to this post after further review I like my effects with the Remedy and I like it without the effects as well. One day I have to test a Les Paul straight into it. I do believe what you guys are saying and appreciate your feedback much respect to you all for your advise and input.

True, but the Monza doesn't have power scaling and the drive and gain knobs! Anyway, I think I've totally hijacked this thread. My apologies!
