All I can say is WOW!! This was the best amp I've ever played on. What great tones! Amazing. I've never really played on a Z before, except on CountryShawn's Maz 18 for a few minutes. The tones were so thick and full. But they were still twangy. Even for only having three knobs it had some pretty versatile tones. The more you push that volume, the crunchier it gets. I can't even imagine the versatility of a Maz38/18 with 6-7 knobs including a Master Volume. I used a couple of different guitars, a 51' Nocaster and a 59' Esquire. Great tones. What an excellent amp! Dr. Z all the Way!! Joel The head was run through a Marshall cabinet.

Hey Ronnie, What speakers are you trying? I just picked up a 2x10 z cab. The 66 (and the ghia) sounds good through it but so far my preference is 1x12. The bomb is that 2x12 cab you have.

Hey Ronnie, What speakers are you trying? I just picked up a 2x10 z cab. The 66 (and the ghia) sounds good through it but so far my preference is 1x12. The bomb is that 2x12 cab you have. I put a Hellatone 30(G12H30) and Eminence 125 Legend in that 2/12 cab. The Greenbacks were just too dark and not efficient enough for 90% of my playing. I tried each speaker by itself before hooking them both up...the Legend 125 is pretty bright/clean with plenty of "cut" and not a lot of bottom...the H30 has more bottom/less highs and is a little dirtier...together they seem to be a good combination for the 66...I'll know more after I put some time on them, especially the Legend...the Hellatone should already be pretty much "broke in" but we'll have to see how the Legend breaks in and smooths out over time.
