The crowd stormed the stage to sing back up on "Brandy, you're a fine girl, what a good wife you would be..." and a 1/2 pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon spilled across the top of my 66 and down through the venting. All sounds ceased..... quickly A/B'd into the RXES head and finished the set.
Do I plug it in now that it has had a few days to dry or could that cause more damage? 'any suggestions?
BTW - the COT 50 recommendation from another thread in the 66 section was dead-on. Killer pedal, killer tone with both the 66 and the ES.

If money is not an object I would take it to a good tech. Since the sound cut off once, you could have blown tubes or a grid resistor. Better to pay the money now rather than fry some more stuff by turning it on again. Bottom line.... get it checked out to be safe.

You probably blew a fuse at the least, and maybe a bit more. Have a tech clean it out using Tech Cleaner or high grade alcohol. It will be fine again, just don't put it under the stress of playing "BRANDY" again...... DR.Z

I can't believe people would get that excited about Brandy. I just realized that I over estimate the class and sophistication of Joe Bagofdoughnuts and Suzie Creamcheese.

Now that I have a 66 I worry about that same thing happening...just the other night at the "debut" gig for the 66 I noticed a waitress walk behind me out of the corber of my eye but I was too busy singing...when I got the chance I turned around and sure nuff, she'd set a round of shots on top of my amp! Maybe I should put a sign up there..."NO DRINKS!"

Picture "Brandy" being performed by the Love child of Lemmy from Motorhead and Patsy Cline and you'll get the idea of why the crowd stormed the stage. We had just brought up some poor lass from the front of the stage for an exorcism. During a rave-up of "I saw the Light" we break and do this bit where the demons of Michael Bolton and Brittany Spears are exorcised from the body of the fan in the name of the Holy Trinity - Elvis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins.
The beer got dumped after the exorcism, but before was had the calf-roping contest with the hobby horse we put on the dance floor.
I'll box it up and have my tech look at it. He's gonna be pissed - he just got done installing all new tubes and re-biasing the head.......

I dumped 1/2 a beer down the top of my Marshall Bluesbreaker one time. I think it only got on the tubes, not on the chassis. I just kept playing because I didn't know when it fell over. the weird part is I don't know where it went! I never looked in the back of the amp until the end of the night and it was dry. A mystery!

The chassis mounts differently on those amps so i guess it just shot right past. We were playing outside and the amp was far from level, then the glass moved from the vibrations and down it went. I do remember it smelling like beer for a while.
