I just loaned my 66 and Z-Best to my friend who just happens to be one of Australia's best jazz guitarists, for a jazz gig he was doing in town. I can't mention his name as is about to become a Fender guitar and amp endorser. I sat no less than 12 feet from the rig and a beautiful jazz tone came through with the settings on Volume-12:00 Treble-9:00 Bass-12:00
So yes I can say the Rt66 can do Jazz very nicely indeed. It was a pleasure to hear such a fine musician playing my Z

I bet with changes in preamp tubes it could be even more tailored to jazz.

I can see that easily, the 66 is FAT, smooth and to me...clean with the right speakers. I'm diggin' the 66 with a pair-O-Greenbacks for some speaker break up though
