Since my father-in-law passed away, I've been messing around with his personal bass plugged into my Rt.66 cuz that's all I have in the house....and besides, I don't own a bass amp. The guitar is a 1958 Fender Precision, mostly original parts including tuners and pickups. The neck is to die for smooth...light as hell and feels so comfortable strapped on.
Anyhoo. The bass sounds really nice through the Rt.66 played at fairly low volumes. I'm afraid to turn it up too much, or I might damage my 2 X 30 watt speakers. But it is a nice, warm, buttery tone with that signature Precision mid-range. Great funky tones, or warmer jazzier tones. OD pedals add some sustain, with little noticeable grit...then again, most guitar OD pedals add dirt in the upper frequencies.
I bet the Delta 88 would make a great bass amp, too.

Sorry about your "pop" in law. I bet your right about the 88. I sometimes play bass out of my vintage Ampeg V-2 head, its probably pretty darn close in output to the 88 with its 7027a's, and it sounds suprisingly good!! Speaking of which, i'm gassing moderately bad over an 88, just cant justify the scratch right now!! D@mn!

I've heard good reports of the KT45 as a bass amp. I think it has even more clean headroom than the Delta.
