I just sold mine..............I know, I know, I know, I gushed about mine when I got it.........I still think its a great pedal. Kind of a very mild fuzz "ish" hendrix-y thing goin. Very cool "edgy" sounding pedal. Best Voodo child , combined with deja vibe tone/RT66 I ever had.
But, for me, I only played voodo chile at 1 gig as a late night drunken mob requested it.
Also, I originally bought it to add some hair to my RT 66...........but, the more I have grown with this amp, the more I realize that NO drive pedal (IMO) sounds better with the RT 66 than the RT 66 driven all on its own. I was hoping the pedal would be a way to get it singing at lower volumes, but, I was able to get the rt66 doing that just by playing it thru a 1 x 12.
After a summer of gigging, I found I used my RC booster for nearly 90% of my boost needs and relied on the guitar volume for shades of gain. Having a $200 pedal on my board, a BD2 and the RC seemed "GASSY" so I sold both the BD 2 and COT.
Instead I invested in a couple of new weber speakers and I also just bout the allums mod kit and am modding my sd 1 with the ts 808 mod.
In my experience, I never did get the COT to sound like the "sound clips"..........I got it to sound good, but, the sound clips are like "tonal Nirvana" and I was sort of dissappointed that I couldn't get those tones.
I have gotten less "drive" pedal happy as of late. Especially with the RT 66 as I learn about what that amp really excells at.
IMO , the best effects to invest in for the 66 are appropriate speakers that add brightness to the tone, and then make sure you have "treble bleed" mods done to all of your guitars volume pots. Oh, and as many have mentioned, a good clean boost is the ticket.
Sorry to blab on about more than the cot 50................just been thinking alot about this amp and thought I'd share my perspective!

I think maybe the Ulbrick Megalodon is the pedal I need. To goose out the goods at a lower volume. Thanks for the replies, still sounds like a great pedal. As a side note, played a few Deep Purple tunes the other night and the Tonefactor Hellbilly/Route 66 was very "on the money"!

I have a COT "no LED" coming soon along with a 60 boost pedal. (half of a twin 6o) I'll report back once I test drive it.
