Is it okay to put 6v6's in a Route 66? I was thinking of using a 5R4WGB I had lying around to lower the B+, tweaking the bias down (less negative), and using some hefty 6v6's like the EH or a pair of Visseauxs. Has anyone tried this? Myles or Dr. Z? I know it's a little strange, but I'm more curious than anything.

B+ needs to be less than 400V. I don't think that's gonna happen with a simple rectifier change.

Hi, the JJ 6V6 is very rugged and can withstand Voltages up to 450V so you might give it a try. There is a chance that you have to change the Bias Pot to get it in Range... just my2c bluesfreak
