I know one thing...the KT45 has a LOT more headroom.

I didn't have a KT-45, but I had the 6545, so I have "some" experience with the KT45 side of that amp. From that experience, as far as I can tell they are nothing alike whatsoever. The KT45 is a very loud, clean amp, although it can get into pretty nice distortion if you get it wound up. The Remedy distorts way earlier, and has quite a different tone too. I'd compare the KT45 with a Hiwatt, while I'd compare the Remedy with an early Marshall (think Cream era). Both great amps, for two different purposes.

Ok, great. Thanks for the response. So is the Rt66 a lot cleaner than the Remedy also?

The Route 66 is a different kind of overdrive. Hard to explain. For the 66, there's overdrive, but because of the output transformer (an ultralinear), you can still hear the individual notes. The clarity and individual string definition is awesome. And it's incredibly dynamic.

Sounds like I better get both the Remedy and the KT-45!
Although for Hiwatt sounds I have been tempted to try a Reeves Custom 50...they look pretty amazing, but you have to buy one without getting to try it b/c they only sell direct. Bummer. Although I did buy the EZG-50 before hearing one, so sometimes buying amps on faith works.

Can anyone compare these two amps? depending on my weekend (shopping) schedule and Canadian Thanksgiving celebrations and if that KT45 is still at Capsule in Toronto ...
