I'm seriously thinking about ordering a Remedy and wanted to know if any one's tried it with a Celestion Gold. I want a 1x12 cab because of the overall weight for lugging around to gigs. I love the G12M Greenback in my Marshall 1974x but it won't work with 40w's. The dealer said with the 1x12 Dr Z uses a Celestion Gold.
Anyone tried the Gold or what else compares.

I'm interested in answers to this as well... I've also heard that a G12 65 is a great way to go.

Actually... scroll down a little, and Benttop (Steve) wrote a review on this exact combination.

Thanks westcoast, yeah I had a closer look after posting this. How are you enjoying your Remedy? Order yours from L&M?
I actually ordered a Remedy head from L&M here in Victoria, there sending it over from the Vancouver store.....................Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm thinking of matching it up with the 1x12 cab/Celestion Gold.

Should be a no-brainer... I did buy mine at L&M, after trying out in order... a Maz jr. a Maz Sr. an EZG, an RXES, and a Ghia. all really great amps, but the Remedy was exactly what I was looking for. It just does pretty much everything I want it to, and what it doesn't, the Ghia does... I took that home too! I'm playing both through a Z 2x10 right now, but am considering another cab as well. The 210 is really great, so I'm thinking about a 410... though, the 112 w/gold is intriguing right now.
You're going to love this amp... the finest I've played!

The Remedy works really great with every speaker I have here. I think part of that is that you have three tone controls, and two volumes for Hi and Normal. Very flexible, and plenty of adjustment for just about any speaker out there. That said, I've played my Remedy through the G12-65 and liked it fine, but switched to the Gold so that the output level matched my other Golds. I have a Gold in my Maz Jr, and my second Convertible cab, so I wanted to match the sensitivities a little better. Works real nice. Honestly, you won't be disappointed with the Remedy no matter which speakers you choose.

Thank's Steve,
I'm going to order the Gold 1x12 tomorrow. I like the G12H in my Maz Jr, but after I get the gold I may think differently.

Well I'm on my way to pick up my Remedy head, lucky they had one in Vancouver.
I'm going to try it with a Z Best cab they have at the store here while my 1x12 cab with a Celestion Gold comes from DR Z.
I've been looking forward to this!!

Well I didn't get much chance to run the amp through the course being my wife and dog were near by last night. I didn't want to subject them to all out assault of a cranked Remedy.
All I can say is man this amp is loud after playing a half hour ago (wife shopping, dog in the back yard)!! I find my Marshall 1974x and Maz Jr to be pretty loud at 18 watts but even turned down with the 20 watt setting the Remedy packs a wallop..............ears riiiiinging! The one thing about this amp is it remains focused and retains clarity through every turn of the volume knobs. I'll need more time to experiment with various settings of amp and pedal board.
I ran my Les Paul Traditional and R8 through either an OCD or Crunchbox and got some killer tones. Last night I also played my '60 CS Strat and '52 RI Tele and it took to single coils great.
I'm using the Z Best cab right now until my 1x12 cab gets here. This amp is just so loud for home use, the true test will come at band practice.
I'm absolutely loving the Remedy so far but even though I was hoping not to, I may have to look at a Brake-lite! Too bad I sold my Airbrake about six months ago.
More to follow after next weeks band practice.....................

I've had a killer JCM-800 reissue for a long time. My son uses it thru various cabs, and in a basement full of just about every cool old amp you could imagine, he's usually plugged into that JCM-800. It is a very sweet amp.
Well, I rotated my Remedy and a Dr. Z 1x12 convertable with the back open and loaded with a Celestion Gold from my music room, down to the basement studio, right next to that JCM-800 about a month ago.
Guess which amp Jeff is using now?
The Remedy thru the Dr. Z 1x12 loaded with a Celestion Gold.
It rocks!!

For the last couple of months I've been using just one single Celestion Greenback with the Remedy. I have GOLDS, Blues, Tone Tubbies, Webers......most of the speakers raved about on this forum. I must say that the Greenies are doing it for me. I have two of them, one in a closed back Z cab and the other in an old style open back Z cab. Either one kills. Of course all of the above mentioned speakers kill with the Remedy as Steve points out. BTW...I have never switched to the 40 watt mode, not even to see if it works .

I have a correction..........my Dr. Z 1x12 loaded with the Gold currently had the back closed. The Remedy sounds amazing thru it.
I have a confession to make..........I find myself choosing the Remedy thru the 1x12 Z with the Gold instead of the Plexis both old and new!!
It sounds that good. The best way I can describe the tone of my Remedy thru the Dr Z/Gold/closed back is that it sounds like a JTM-45 Plexi, only the Remedy is tighter and a bit clearer.
Also, I LOVE THE HALF POWER MODE!! It breaks up a bit earlier, and gets me to the "warm and fuzzys" that I love.
It's all good!!
