Hi, I was thinking of trading my MAZ-18 for a Route 66 but I backed out of it....because of no FX loop on it....
How do you feel about it? Is it really a detriment?
Currently I use a little 'verb, some delay for solos thru my FX loop on the maz...

Could care less.
DOn't need reverb or delay. I've owned amps with loops before and never used them. Personally can't stand the sound of it, it, it, it,t,t.

If it's that important, order one with an fx loop.
BTW, I have a Maz Jr with an fx loop and a Rte 66 with no effects loop. The Maz sits, the 66 gets played.

I find effects loops are not missed at all....
Live, we mic everything and can take a signal to a massive effects rack if desired.
Studio - we do the same thing but record dry (so we can add or change effects later) and use high end effects.
I also find that most effects loops whether series or parallel do change the amp in some ways.
On some live setups that have two speaker outs, we run one out to the cab and the other out to a load box that has a line out and run that line out to the board.
