Well.....I've got a Ghia, Maz Jr NR, and a Rt 66. You can't go wrong with any of these. If you're thinking portability, I'd go with the Ghia. There is beauty in it's simplicity. It's also really small and light....like a shoe box. My Jr is a 2x10 combo, so I don't have direct experience with a Jr. head. Both amps are plenty loud to hang with a band. I play small clubs with a pretty heavy-handed drummer...no problem. Depends on whether or not you need headroom. I don't . Limitations?....hmmm. The Ghia might be considered a one-trick pony. Personally, I like it. You can dial up more variation with the Jr. As far as speakers, I never really connected with G12Ms. Not enough low end for my tastes. I like them better if they're pushed hard. Somehow, at this point in my life, I don't think of a 2x12 when I think of portability. My Z-Best is kind of a beast. Sounds good, but heavy and big, and I only take it out when I have a "big" gig, like, outdoors. I prefer a light-weight 1x12 or 2x10 cab for small gigs or rehearsal. Z's cabs are not exactly light-weight (at least not the ones I've picked up). They sound good, though.

I think the 2-10 cab is light, at least light enough to be an easy grab and dash.

...i use a Ghia head/1-12 after trying a number of Z's in various forms...can't say its any better for blues than the Maz Jr, Z-28 or Rt66 i had but i will say that it gets me to the tone i want with less fuss and more satisfaction than the others...a few pedals (compressor, clean boost and a delay) and i have a lot of versatility...more than i need....keepin it simple makes me a better player.....

This is a really tough call. They are both great amps with their own signature sound. As much as I LOVE my Ghia, the Maz Jr. is a functionally more versatile amp, especially when gigging. The Ghia's tone, touch sensitivity and dynamics are fantastic though. Good luck on your tone quest!
