Am awaiting a Maz 18 Jr combo to be delivered, plus the Z 1x12 Extension Cab. Just ordered a Brake Lite and the official "Y" speaker cable from Humbucker Music. (this cable is commonly used to go from the head to both cabs, at 4ohms). Will I need to add a second Brake Lite for the ext.cab, or can I simply use the "Y" out of the Brake Lite into both cabs? Not sure if the BL is meant for just 1 speaker, or multiple. My guess is that it should work fine... but just a guess.

Brake lite doesn't care what's on the output side so long as you match the speaker load to the right output on the amp. So if you use a parallel Y cable, and the two speakers are 8 ohms, plug the Y into the Brake lite output, hook both speakers to that, and plug the Brake Lite into the 4 ohm output on the amp.

Thanks! That was my hope/thought.

Benttop is spot on here - that's exactly how I've been running my Maz38 1x12 + 1x12 ext cab setup for a few months now, and it works great. Enjoy the new setup!!

Thanks. So looking forward to it! Just ordered a Lovepedal Kanji Eternity to nudge it along a bit.
One last thought: As far as home & recording audio goes, I have always felt that pairs of speaker cables should be matched in length, despite how far they need to run, to keep resistance uniform. I would like to run the 1x12 ext. cab on the other side of the stage at times, which means a 15-20ft speaker cable. If anyone else is doing the same, do you also use a 15-20ft'er from the amp to the combo/close speaker? Maybe the resistance difference is so negligible in this situation it would not be worth it? Dunno...

Dunno... The truth is, I have four 4-foot speaker cables, all 12 AWG, that are supposed to be the bee's knees in advanced audio signal conduction. But sometimes it is convenient for me to use a 30 foot 18 AWG cable that I have for my PA monitors. I swear, I can never tell the difference. I don't think you will have to worry about it much. There is no question the amp doesn't care, so it's only a matter of whether you can hear a difference or not, and you may or may not. I sure don't. YMMV.

I use the maz 18 verb combo G12H loaded + marshall 1912 celestion blue loaded, Y cable and brake lite. you just plug the BL to the 4 ohm amp output and the other side to the Y cable, then to the speakers.

I can't post pictures, but it is easy to imagine what it looks like: I've drilled a hole close to the output jack of the BL to put another paralell output jack in order not to use the Y cable when external cab is added. very simple and effective ! it could be a nice factory upgrade to any BL ...
