I am interested in buying this old dinosour RX head and trying to figure out just how old it really is. It looks almost like a prototype head. Was that the original Dr. Z tolex, or did someone recover it? Too, I wonder if the circuit and transformers remained the same throughout the RX amp production life? Notice too that the expand and bright switch positions are reversed from the later amps. Any info would be good

I have had some Dr. Z Maz Jr. Combos and heads in that tolex before... both black and red.

That is a first year RX using the old engraved plastic panel. I believe that Hardwood one belonged to Cotton if I'm not mistaken.

Wow, I had a chance to buy it pretty cheap. I just wanted to make sure it was original. Oh well, maybe I'll find another.

Zone47, Man you missed out on buying a great amp and I'm glad you did cause it's at my house now!!
With some NOS tubes this amp sounds absolutely amazing!!!!!!
