I'm looking forward to hearing how it sounds with four EVH Blackbacks, but just as interested in hearing 2 greenbacks. Doubt that help you, but glad to hear you think it's the best.

I like it best (from what I have tried so far) with G12H30's. V30's were to honky, greenbacks sounded good but seemed to break up too much. I hated it with 10's. I think this amp sounds best with a 2x12 open back cab.

Man, I sure liked the EZG w/ John Priest's 4X10 in the bigger venues on the Gary Moore UK tour. AND my 2x10 convertible here at home, also the Zbest. I'd love to give it a whirl w/ a big ol' open back Z 2X12. I have a G12-65 and a Celestion Gold ready to load into one.

BW are you using the EZG as a main amp or are you using it with the Ghia?

BW are you using the EZG as a main amp or are you using it with the Ghia? Depends on the gig! Bigger (or outdoor) venues I always take the EZG, and a 2X10 convertible, but the ghia goes too, just in case.

As far as speakers. i really like mine through my 1x12 g1265 cab. Doc recommended to me at one time to run my opan back 2x12 cab with 1 g12h30 and 1 g1265.

I haven't paid close enough attention....but you use an EZG-50 Full-Time now? (I thought maybe you had just tried English John's a couple of times) So you know the countless times you played your Strat through your MAZ Senior with the Bluesbreakers? How does the EZG compare with that. Being about the same power, etc...just curious about the tone, etc....plugged straight-in of course with NO Airbrake. I've always thought your Strat Tone through the MAZ Senior was the best ever. I think this EZG-50 is a serious Amplifier that is on the short list one of these days. Do tell Buddy, Thanks! Mark

Still LOVE the Senior (and the Studio Deluxe) and consider it 'my' amp. I have been experimenting w/ the EZG on some bigger gigs, I sure love that headroom and the spacious 'verb. I'd like to play a 'bucker thru it for a while too, might try a 335 with it some in the near future. John did indeed loan me his EZG and 4X10 and it did ROCK in those big ol' venues we played w/ Gary Moore. (thanks again JP!)

Everyone knew it would sound great with Single Coils, but I too think the EZG would give a thick, clear, Michael Bloomfield type fo tone with a Les Paul. Hopefully English John, or you, or someone will post clips sometime. I'm also thinking with having a Pre-Post Volume Set-up, you don't need an Airbrake for most applications to sound nice. Mark
