i just picked up a RX ES the other day. so far i really like the amp. i also picked up a few pedals. but i was wondering if the RX takes pedals well. so far none of them sound like they were described to me. the banzai cold fusion sounds fine besides it not liking my delay. but the fulltone gt500 doesnt sound that good. i was wondering if anyone else here runs a high gain distortion pedal through your amp. also which ones do you use? i need a good bit of gain i mostly play blues and classic rock which i have covered. but sometimes when i jam with my buddies we play down tuned metal. thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey there. Welcome to the board. I have a RX ES head and Z-best that I run together. I have a OCD, Zendrive, BB Preamp for distortion. I think that the OCD sounds the most Marshally with the Prescription. If you want to boost it make sure your overdose is on. That is pure magic! I usually run into the High input as well. I use my Zendrive for leads. I play a telecaster mainly, and a PRS Custom 22/Les Paul for rock stuff. Humbuckers make that amp scream! p.s. I haven't had any trouble with the delay not sounding good. I have a Line 6 DL-4 and run straight in. No effects loop used. I just turn the mix down a bit for a thickening effect.
Have fun! Paul
