I love my Tele into my Stingray, but when it comes to the Strat, the RXES just kills. Man oh man.. set fairly clean with the OD on, guitar volume turned down a bit it just has that Jimi Hendrix kind of Hey Joe tone that all us guitar players have been chasing for years. And there it is, right there in my own home. Yikes! I played it through my Alnico Blues tonight, with the Airbrake set about four clicks down - still loud, but not enough to endanger the Blues. Hoo boy, I was in tone heaven!
I've been lusting for a Maz Jr combo for a long time - after playing the Strat into the RXES, that RXJr is looking a lot more interesting for a grab and go combo.

I've played and owned alot of guitars and a particular Don Grosh I played in Nashville was the best instrument I've ever laid my hands upon. They are spectacular guitars and I can only imagine how it sounds with the Zs

They are spectacular guitars and I can only imagine how it sounds with the Zs They are like every other guitar in one way - each one has its own character. But the way Don builds them, the character of each is amazingly flawless. I have a Tele and a Strat, and I would buy ten more in a heartbeat if I had the dough...

Funny you should mention your RxES tone Steve. I was just about to post something tonight about mine when I read this. The RxES has been my favorite amp for over a year now, but I usually set it about halfway up on the volume and do alot of country and mildly overdriven classic rock with it. I had the house to myself tonight, so I opened her up to about 2:30 on the volume. WOW! Super punchy overdrive that stayed smooth no matter which guitar I used. To top it all off, using my Tele I could still get anything from clean country spank, to dirty country rock, to full out classic rock crunch and growl with this setting, and that's by only adjusting my guitar volume! It amazes me how responsive this amp is. I know now that I'll be cranking it up this high on a more regular basis.

Yes, Grosh RC and RX Es, TONE HEAVEN for me too! Its just a great little amp. I just finished my new CD using 90% Grosh RC and RX ES. Clean, dirty, semi-dirty, with pedals, w/o pedals, using three different cabs (Bogner Cube, Z 2 x 10, Mojotone 1x12 open back), it all sounded great and provided a HUGE palette of tones for the CD. Z is the man!!!
