You can't possibly make the 2-10 cab misbehave with a ghia head. It'll just be loafing. I got to play quite a bit thru a Z 2-10 cab and thought it had overall a very balanced tonality and really a nice midrange that gave the fundemantal of the note good support. I don't see how you could not like it. I really want one myself.

I've had a Ghia head and 1x12 cab and sold it to buy a the Ghia combo 2x10 and I couldn't be happier. I would never sell the 2x10, it's the best amp I have ever played!

hifivic, I have a GHIA 2x10 combo (blonde with the GREEN jewel light )..... the DR Z 10's ARE NOT like other 10's you've heard (well except maybe weber's or fanes) and in his cab/combos sound more like 12's because of the extra recessed baffle thing goin on...I have no Idea how that works other than it adds an inch or two around the outer edge of the 10" speaker to make it "think" it's bigger than it really is... i'm sure somebody else could explain it alot better but IT WORKS..... alot of guy's use the 2x10 combo with mazerati's and Maz 38's so the ghia shouldn't ever really come close to push'n those 10" speakers into any speaker distortion.... I've got a Z 1x12 ext cab with a G12-H30 and it starts to get a little speaker distortion much quicker than the Z 2X10 ever would.... ( BTW: I like the G12-H30 for that very reason, and if you go with a 1x12 combo I would think the speaker would really be important for the type of sound you want... would think something like the G12 or a weber 30 watt bluedog would sound pretty good) Now THAT said, the GHIA itself starts breakin up pretty quick but it's the amp and NOT the speakers I don't think you could ever OVERDRIVE or BOTTOM OUT these 10's with a ghia and if your looking for home use only I'd highly reccomend the 2x10.... the lower volumes on the GHIA are sweet... very pretty, complex cleans.... I sometimes run it with an extra 2x12 cab WITH the 2x10's (sounds AWESOME) for practice with the band to get a little bigger sound but I prefer the 2x10's over running it to the 1x12 ext cab... although it sounds REALLY good running out to my Z-best 2x12 cab..... JMHO... I'm sure the 1x12 combo and guy's using it love it.. after having the 2x10 for a while I'm just loving the 2x10 combo and I've alway been a 12" speaker guy ( all my other amps are run through 2x12 cabs...) if you do decide to go with a 2x10, don't worry cause I think you'll love it.... just make sure it has the green jewel light... ;D Jason
