I'm currently using a delta and have only heard great things about the RX & RX ES....
What would the RX do differently than my Delta?

Hey, Fjam, I tried to answer your question in the Lounge section, but here it is too.... Wish I could help ya on the Delta side of it but thats the only one I haven't played, and I'd love to play one... I have an RX ES... if you like the Delta, I think you'd also like the RX ES with the Overdose... two of the more rockin amps Doc builds... Tone WOULD be different however with the big ole KT -88's vs's the EL-84's... from what I HAVE heard of the delta with Brad Paisley and Michael Burks using it, plus what forumites have described... I think the drive will be a little different with the Delta being a little more "Raw" wehen it breaks up and the RX ES being a little smoother in the drive with the ef-86 after the eq.... as opposed to the delta's (and all of Doc's other ef-86 amp's) ef-86 in the front. I think that would be close but someone correct me if I'm wrong.... Maybe you could ask doc, cause it might be hard to find someone with experience on both amps... OR I'd try Stu at Fatsound or the guy's at wilcutts could probably help ya?? Hope this helps some... I'd love to have a Delta 88 to play on for a while. Jason AND if your NOT looking for as much drive... WITHOUT the the overdose is loud and pretty with hair... great sound. ALSO if THATS what your looking for and don't need the DRIVE, you might look into the Original RX... I have one of those too and it's AWESOME... NOT as smooth as the RX ES... doesn't have the OD type drive but does have even more hair to it with the clean and is more of a raw sound in a GLORIOUS way.. NOT as Smooth as the RX ES. I'd probably Call Wilcutts as they STILL have a couple of 88's, several RX ES's and an Original RX combo... They could probably tell ya what ya need to know... I've bought from them before and they are real good guy's... Jason
