Chet Atkins put out an album of Beatles covers & George said "That's the way I would have played it, but I didn't have enough fingers at the time"

Hey everybody thanks for the kind words here's a few more clips i just recorded. metal shreddy thing. Now this really is sacrilige (sp?). Just to show people it can be done, here's shred on a ghia. I'm sorry for any offence this causes anyone ;D lol. Out of the window goes the description someone said of me being "tasteful" lol. noodly country playing. I play the nervous breakdown at 0.29 but i can't play it as well as countryshawn so don't judge me . reggae then rockabilly. Just shows that one great sound can be so versatile. Enjoy/Despise! Nick

Great playing NickG! You keep getting better and better. ;D Don't stop man, you have a real future in music ahead of you if you are playing like that at your age. Some karma for you.

I should just give it up now. I guess you have played in more than one incarnation. How can you be so talented at 15? And, be aware enough to own a Dr. Z amp? I would cut off my left hand if I didn't need it for other reasons. Okay, here's some Karma

Nick, I'm guessing that you have no "musical snobbery" going on judging by those three clips. That's a very mature attitude for someone your age and something that will hold you in good stead for your whole musical career, which will be a good one if you choose that path I'm sure. Fantastic playing, in the helicon days of the 80's session player, you would have probably already been rich ala Steve Lukather, Micheal Landau! I'm sure you've got some Kudos coming anyway! Good Luck.

Nick, what did you use on that shred clip? guitar/settings/pickups in said guitar....etc... Well i "cheated" in a sense, it's not natural overdrive or anythng, its the line 6 pod xt live set on a marshall jcm800 with extra gain from a stompbox. And some reverb from the pod, then into ghia. I expect most guitars would sound the same through that setup anyway, it's what i call flattering gain . The guitar used in any case was a fender custom shop 60 strat i got very cheap. Sounds great for blues, rock, reggae etc. but i wouldn't choose it for metal.
