EDIT: new clips are on the second page of this thread Well, i got it last saturday and decided to keep quiet about it until i had some pictures to show you. It's a 2005 Carmen Ghia 2x10 combo in blonde with green jewel. I played all the zs in the store and after 3 hours extensive testing decided to go for the ghia. Believe it or not, i felt it was the best sounding out of them all, as well as it being the cheapest, lightest, most portable option. Now i've had it a while and can give a full review. I love this amp! I have never got a better sound than guitar-cable-ghia. You probably all know this, i just felt it needed repeating. I could go on for hours about every little detail but i won't. Here's links to a few pictures: 1) carmen ghia2) ghia panel3) me playing through ghiaBeautiful. I did some makeshirt messy recording through a crappy mic and a minidisc player made 10 years ago or something and the sound turned out pretty good actually, though absolutely nothing compared to hearing it in reality. mexican classic 50s tele neck pickup, through boss dm-3, into cgtele bridge pickup (seymour duncan "hot" lead) through delay through cgsame as abovetele straight into ghia, no effectsstrat neck pickup through delay, ghiastrat neck/middle pickup through delay, ghiaEnjoy! EDIT: new clips are on the second page of this thread

Wow,very nice playing there Nick. I never thought the Ghia (especially with 2x10's) was capable of such a full and sweet tone reminiscent of something with a blackface and a (F) label on it. I thought it excelled doing the grittier blues thing but struggled in something a lot bigger and fuller until i heard your those licks of yours........Man, I just can't wait to get my blonde head that I won on ebay a few days ago. I'm not going to be able to put my geetar down!
Thanks for taking the time to post your clips, I enjoyed them immensely mate.

Nickg, VERY tasteful, I don't mean for a 15 yrs old, I mean tastful PERIOD!! I have a blond Ghia 2x10 combo almost identical to yours... only difference is mine has the dark brown fender style tolex... and I've tried running it through every other speaker / cab I have (all 12") and have decided I like the Z 10's it came with the best... I LOVE MINE!!! I think it's fatter and has more bottom than my maz 18 had.... It CAN get those maz 18 cleans like your playing illustrates and so much more... add a really good boost or od in front of it and watch out.... nick, one thing I did try that I liked, if you ever get a 2x12 ext cab... if ya need a little more volume... I really liked running a 2x12 with the internal 2X10's together... BIG SOUND.... You've /we've got a great amp Don't ever stop playin!!!

Thats great playing Nick! Congrats on the Ghia, I felt a bit bad when I deprived you of that Black Ghia Head we fought over on Ebay, and now I have heard you play I know it would have gone to a musically better home than mine!! Nice. Very nice!

Nick, Very pretty amp and the Tele is a great fit as well. As a side note .... there are some that believe a bit of folklore that has been around for many years in regard to the jewel lamp color. Some believe that the "green lamped" Carmen Ghias have a little bit more "mojo" and sound better than the others the do not have the green jewel. I have not been able to actually measure this but I have not been able to either prove or disprove this mystery. In any case, you have the green mojo so maybe let us all know what you find. As a side note ... I DID PROVE that adding an aftermarked green jewel does NOT do anything! My own CG has a purple factory installed jewel. I removed it at one point and tried a green one I had. I did not sound any better or play any better. My scientific assumption was that the jewel had to be factory installed at the time of build by the good Doctor himself. Maybe Dr. Z only puts the green jewels on amps that he felt had a bit more magic? I don't know. It will remain a mystery that we will all discuss and pass the story along for years. Happy playing!

Though i suppose because my major influence is mr paisley, and he listened to those guys, i might have some "second-hand" influence from them.

Hey Nickg, have you ever checked out the old school guys like Jimmy Bryant and Speedy West? Chet Atkins too. Jimmy Bryant is not the most modern sounding guy as far as country goes but he can rip!

I recommend Chet Atkins to every level player in any style. Chet reminds you of how good guitar can be and how even monster chops should always serve the music.

Awesome style Nick....amp sounds very toneful .....I ordered the same CG combo today in the same color but went with the 12" VC-30.....(I'm a sucker for blond amps!) .......hopefully it will sound as toneful as yours. Keep at it Nick you have alot of talent. I've been playing 40 years and feel like shooting my hand now!!!!!
