Couldn't resist with Phil's writeup and the video posted - 1x12 black combo on the way on Monday - should be here for next weekends gig including the Paramount Blues Festival.
Still lovin' the Galaxie 2x10 combo - it was quite a hit as we "ran-away with the show" last night at the Big Bull Falls festival according to Great Northern Blues Society President - Bob Decker - but I am too intrigued by the Jaz the sweetness of 6V6s.
Thanks Dr Z!

Ordered Saturday from Humbucker Music - arrived today 1x12 combo black and tan. Sounds great messing around in the house - boy don't see be able to use the full power switch much except at outdoor gigs. I loved my Z28 but it hadn't been seeing much action since I have been playing the Galaxie quite bit. But with the Jaz 20/40 the Galaxie may see some neglect the crunch of the 6V6s I love. Hope to shoot some videos next week at the blues jam!

Congrats also! Like you mentioned the 40 watt mode is LOUD. What speaker did you get in the 1x12? g12h30?

Yeah it is the g12h30. Like it much more than the Vintage 30 (which always seems too harsh to my ears with too many overtones) and better than the Greenback (which doesn't have enough clarity for me). I have 3 outdoor gigs the next 3 days including a blues festival - so I am excited to see how it sounds on the stage!

A g12h30 is a great speaker and yes I also like them better than a v30. Enjoy the JAZ and the gigs.

Well got to open it up a bit yesterday on 1/2 power (still don't see being able to run this beast on full power) through the 1x12 yesterday. Wow! Ran the pre-volume up to about 3 o'clock and the master at about 2 o'clock and just used the volume knob on that git-fiddle thing and let the amp do the rest. Compared to the Galaxie which I have been playing mostly I prefer the "crunch" and sweetness of the 6V6s. I also dialed in a bit of reverb. I did find the reverb to be too "springy" past 9 o'clock for my ears - I guess I was expecting something more subtle like on my '97 Maz Jr.
The tremolo was great in fact my bandmates are accusing me of overabusing the Tremolo feature on our tunes (which I probably am) - but man does it sound killer compared to my Supa-Trem, Empress, and the 1964 Tremolux I used to own. I think I may soon need a 12-step program for Tremolo abusers.
Hope to run the amp tonight at the Paramount Blues Festival with the 1x12 and a 2x10 Z cabinet - probably still in 1/2 power mode!

Can tremolo actually be over used? No, I don't think so.

The trem on this amp is seriously amazing. From slow to fast it puts a huge smile on my face when playing.
