Hello, I have a remedy head and a 1X12 port city cab loaded with a vintage 30. It is well broken in but I still find it a little harsh. Also would would like more pronounced low rather than high mids. Any suggestions. Maybe a G12H or G12 M? Thanks

G12M is only a 25 watt speaker if I'm not mistaken. G12H is 30 watts? I think that might be right.
I'm using a G12-65 here and liking it quite a bit. Real smooth speaker, and a 65 watter.

I have a 1/12 Z Cab that had the vintage 30 in it and it had the same problem just way too bright for me. I play Strat's and have found that the Celestion G12H really works great with my guitars. Both my guitars have the maple necks and they are a little brighter so for some reason with the Remedy and my Maz 18 JR Nr the G12H just works better for me personally. I was able to hear a a guitar with humbuckers through the Maz 18 Jr Nr and it sounded great as well. Hope this helps. I have yet to test out the Remedy with Humbuckers I am afraid too. I don't want to start gassing for a new guitar! ;D

oh yeah, i forgot, I play a tele with lindy fralins and it is definitley bright, whay would be the difference between a g12H and a g12-65, I also have a mesa combo with a black shadow I was thinking about trying in my cab, it is darker for sure but I think the mids are a little scooped and I like mids, mostly lower mids

The guitar in my avatar has the lindy fralin woodstock 69's. I even had them overwound to warm them up. My other strat has the Fender custom shop 69's in it. No ice pick tones with the G12H. I like it's warmth and bottom end and also the mids and treble. Compared to the Vintage 30 the G12H is much warmer and less bright sounding not harsh at all good overall EQ of the bass/mid/treble. I have not tried the G12-65 however quite a few of the forum members have raved about it with the Remedy.

Appreciate the info faze! I am going to try that black shadow first to see how I like it since I already own it. If not, may go the G12h route. What kind of music do u play and what effects do u use out of curiousity?

Some nice British speakers that you may look into are the ceramic Weber Silver Bells with the Prerola doping.
