Hello fellow patients of the Doctor. Has anyone tried the OCD made by fulltone into the Ghia. I am looking at getting one for my ghia to drive the bugger into tube saturation heaven. I will also be using an Boss SD1 I have modded up for a Tube Screamer esq sound.

...i have an OCD and it works extremely well with my Ghia....the natural loose corpulent breakup of the Ghia is maintained while the OCD takes it to another level...in fact the Ghia is the only amp that i've really liked the OCD with....it just hasn't sounded as good with other amps...its also quite a versatile pedal that sounds great and cranks out low or fairly high gain at any volume level....

for what it is worth, i have a Fulltone Distortion Pro that i use in my signal chain to my Ghia. it is very nice!!
it seems that the ghia plays nice with almost every pedal i put in front of it.
although, i have modded my compressor and my delay pedal to quiet them down.

FulldriveII sounds pretty good with it. Ive gotten where I really hate the Tube screamer........to much over the top mids

My personal fave right now is my Analogman Silver Mod Tube screamer. No annoying mids and a very natural sound both with my Ghia and Z-28. Analog Mike is a great guy to do business with IMHO. www.analogman.com/ts9silv.htm

I tried an OCD numerous times into my Ghia at different volume levels. I can't say that I liked it very much. It wasn't horrible, but it didn't knock my socks off either. Maybe I expected more out of it because of all the hype that surrounded it. Now that Fulltone is using a different volume pot value I may try another OCD, maybe I'll like it more this time.

I have an OCD that sounds great with a Ghia. I am running it at 18 volts with my DC Brick. Really nails the heavy saturation sounds. I have a Xotic AC for the OD tones.

Question for Hollywood 5150. I haven't tried my OCD at 18 volts. What is it about that voltage that you like compared to the standard 9 volt? Thanks

Yup! I like it a lot. Just used the rig at rehearsal today. I can't figure out how to make the amp sound bad unless I play the wrong notes.

It seems to have a little different tone, a little more balls. Its seems to add a little more bottom end and less fizzy highs. When I got the Brick it had 18 volt outs, and the OCD would run at 18 so I thought what the heck. I loved the distortion in my old Boogie Nomad, and this gets me real close. I read something on Fulltone's website about this, but I've slept since then.

Ghia Head+Weber Alnico Blue in open cab+V30 in closed cab + OCD + Tele with Fralin Blues Special bridge pickup is, to me, the definition of "snarl"

A little late here, but I used an OCD with my new Ghia last weekend and was able to go from clean to fearsome with a twist of the guitar's volume control. The Fulldrive sounded good too, but I couldn't get my stage volume up far enough for it to really burn.
