Does everyone seem to favor closed back 2x12s with the Z-Best Vintage 30/G12H30 mix? I see that some folks have been using G12-65s. Anyone out there using greenbacks or other speakers? I never really like Vintage 30s, they seemed spikey and unpleasant.
I plan on purchasing a Remedy soon. My 2x12 is currently empty, it's a convertible so it can be closed or open back. I have been considering Weber speakers also; maybe a combo of the Blue Dog and Silver Bell...

I have the Dr Z 1/12 with a Celestion G12H 30. I use mine with the middle part open. I agree about the vintage 30 it's too bright for my tastes. I like the G12H 30 though.

I can't wait to hear it with a pair of greenbacks in a closed back cab.

I can't wait to hear it with a pair of greenbacks in a closed back cab. lemme know how it works for ya ... I'm just countin' the weeks, days, hours and minutes until mine arrives ... think it'll be paired up with the 112 and 210 cabs I got ... though, a blond Z-best may be in my future cheers always, eh Joel

Sorry Joel, I haven't ordered mine yet. But for when I do...
I've got a greenback for the 20 watt setting and a V30 for the 40 watt setting, though I don't know when I'll ever be able to use the 40 watt setting. I've also got a G12H30 that I'd like to use with the V30.

I love it with the Z-Best. Really nice with the Z 2x10 Convertible Open or Closed, but I prefer the closed ...but for the past couple of weeks I've been plugged into a Marshall 4x10 RI with the Golds. OH YEAH! It is very speaker friendly for me so far.
If you go with the Weber Blue and Silver, be aware that as you increase the voltage rating the speaker darken up. I could notice it from 30 to 50, so I'd advise the 30 watts in parallel.
