I'm looking at getting a Ghia head. I have a peavey delta blues w/8 ohm 15" Jensen Vintage in the cabinet. I'd like to use the peavey as my cabinet w/ghia head. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The Ghia is a REAL COOL amp! I bet if you like the cabinet, you will like it even more with the Ghia. ;D

I think it would sound fine. I have used a weber 15 in a 112 cab with my ghia, and it was good.

Thanks for the feedback guys. From everything I've read and heard, the Ghia sounds like a great amp and should easily meet all of my needs (small venues, blues.) I especially like the ease of use, durability, great customer service, and the fact that it holds it's value well. And of course the promise of tone, tone, tone! I'm gonna lug my Delta Blues to a couple of local music shops around here and hook a head up to the cabinet to hear for myself how it differs from what the peavet pumps out. The DB is a very nice little amp for what it is, but I'm expecting the Ghia to give me that extra I just can't seem to coax out of the DB.

Bang for the buck, you can't beat the Delta Blues. 2 friends of mine swear by 'em and though I'm a dyed in the wool Z-aholic, I have to agree. Tremolo built in and the 2X10 one also is a very nice little amp. Wish Hartley'd put a standby switch in 'em though.

I think the Ghia should sound fine thru a 15". I have a friend that runs a BF Princeton into a old Fender 15" and it sounds great.

I'm currently running my Ghia into a 1x15 no-name cab (closed back) loaded with a JBL D130 and it sounds AWESOME!
I've only had my Ghia for a little over a month now so I haven't had the chance to run it through any other cab/speaker combinations but I'm sure it would sound great through anything.
Good luck at those music shops!

I occasionally run mine through a 15" Weber Alnico with a smooth cone and it sounds great. The Ghia's are great! However, in a small blues club setting I have been unable to get the ghia to break up like I like because it is a little too loud when it get there. I have gone to using a pedal in front of it. The Ghia unlike most other amps I have used is very full and lush even at very low volumes. It sound great with pedals in front of it even at bedroom levels. My biggest suprise with this amp is the volume it puts out. It is easily loud enough for any club. I would bet money it will be as loud or louder than the Delta Blues.
