I am planning on picking up an Avatar G112 open-back cab to go with my mini z head, and I have narrowed it down to either a Celestion Greenback or G12H30 speaker to go in it. I was wondering if anybody on these forums has had the opportunity to try these speakers out with the mini z. Which one do you think would be better suited for the Mini z head in a 112 cab? I am shooting for a versatile speaker that can do good cranked mini z tones. (hopefully kinda like a Marshall only quieter) I am planing on playing a Gibson 61' SG reissue through the amp if that helps at all. Thanks for any input!

I am interested in this as well.......I love the G12H in my Maz, but I am curious as to how the greenback would sound with the Mini-Z!

I'd be interested to know that myself but thus far thinking a Celestian Blue. But of course first we need the Mini Z in the marketplace. Not too much longer though

I've always liked the Weber Ceramic Silver Bell 12" speaker with my Z amps.

I plan on going with the same cab but I was going to use a blue (maybe a gold) so I could also use it with my Maz Jr. I think the Blue would be sweeeeet

I finally decided to give G12h30 a try, I'll let you guys know what I think after I get my mini z head and get to play through it for a few weeks. Let me know how you guys like the combo with other speakers, i.e. celestion blue. ;D

I'll be using my Weber 15" Blue Dog ceramic, since that's the only cab I have.

If you don't need/want the headroom, I think a Greenback would be perfect with the Mini.
About the Avatar, I have the open back 1x12 and it can be picky about where you place it as far as the bass is concerned. However, if you can get it off the ground, it is great and more consistent.
