I was interested in picking up a boost. I was looking to try a Bad Bob, RC Boost, or Analogman Beano Boost. I've never used one before, so I am planning to try out a few different models/designs and see if I like them. My only concern is that I've read that they boost the volume considerably. I'm worried about causing damage to the amp or speaker. Can a boost cause any harm? Thanks.

I've been boosting all my amps (mini included) for years. Never had a problem.

I've been boosting for years. As long as it sounds good for that gig, you can always replace it later!

I boost through a Zvex SHO; and haven't had any problems for 50 hours playing time and counting. Even so, I would like to hear a technician's opinion on this matter.

Ive boosted my mini before as well but nowadays if I play a gig with it, I just set a mic in the back of the cab so I can put it in the mains and crank it up around 2-3 oclock...actually, I'll be doing that very thing tomorrow night...Thursdays are semi-acoustic nights for us lately(no drummer) so Ive been using nothing but the mini and a cord.
