Almost approaching one year with the KT now. I finally took everyone's advice and replaced the russian EF86 with a NOS Dario Miniwatt. Definitely worth every penny!
I tried one of the Sovtek 12ax7LPS with balanced triodes, which unfortunately immediately went microphonic, causing extremely loud popping and crackling sounds, so I switched back to a EH 12AX7
Still got the JJ E34L power tubes and a GT 5AR4
Verdict after a year, this is a keeper. I almost had a moment of insanity when I thought about a selling it a few months back, but I don't think I can let this one go.
Just curious for KT users, what is your favorite 12ax7 with the KT?

I've just ordered a NOS RCA greyplate 12AX7 for V1, as soon as it arrives I'll try it out and post the results here!

I'm about to dump a tung-sol(triode matched) re-issue into the PI slot and looking around for a NOS rectifier but, I'll post when I try the tung-sol. They've always done a great job in my other amps. Dario compared to some of the other ef86's I've heard are a much better*though a lot of the other ef86s I've heard weren't in the KT*

It sure does make a h*ll of a difference in amp tone and feel.

JJ ECC803S, Dario 86, JJ GZ34, GTEL34Ls. It's been about 3 months since I played mine. I sold my speaker cabs to fund my Galaxie 1x12 purchase

Now I've just gotta dig it out of the mesa/boogie. Too many tubes to move around, almost easier to pull the whole chassis out to get the the preamp section. ...I'm not gonna miss having to replace 14 tubes for a full re-tube. Somebody is gonna dig it though. The KT is all I've ever needed....except for the rest of the Z line

I just fitted a NOS Mullard EF86 and a NOS Mullard GZ34 to my KT, sounds the mutts nuts! The tube rectifier lowers the wattage a touch, not that you'd notice it mind you, it's still hellishly loud if you want it to be, awesome clean tone. Delighted! Going to order a Z 4x10 next weekend to go with it! I tried one a couple of days ago and it just blew my mind!

Sorry for the delay! Yes, the 4x10 with the KT is simply stunning! The 10's are punchy and full, the tone is amazing, more than I could have hoped for! Can't wait to get it. ;D
