I checked out some of the sound clips of the Remedy, which sound great. My question is though, when everyone says it sounds like a "Plexi"........which amp(s) are they specifically referring to? the classic 18 watt marshall? JTM45? or more like a Non MV Super Lead 100?

I have played my Remedy against my old JMP 45, playing both thru an old Marshall 4x12 loaded with creambacks.
Both the Remedy and the JMP sounded almost identical.
I have a couple of nice old JTM-45's, which are "real plexis", but haven't yet played them against the Remedy.
Remember........the actual tone of Plexis varied dramatically. I own two, a script logo, and a block logo........both are JTM 45's. One will rip you a new one....all growly and wonderfully Marshally growl. The other growls nicely, but is decidedly smoother, fatter, and bluesy-er. So, there really isn't only one plexi tone.
And, I've also found that modern amps also vary widely.
I'll try to play the Remedy directly against my Plexi's and post about it.

Specifically, an actual "plexi" panel, 4 input, JMP. I own a '76 JMP MKII 100, and the Remedy kicks its as$ (tone-wise) thru the matching 4x12 w/'72 greenbacks....MUCH more 3D than the JMP. Doc told me...."I loosely designed the Remedy on a purple plexi panel (I "think" he said 100 watt ~ cudda been 50) head from the 70's, that is to this day, the best damn Marshall I've ever heard". FWIW. My apologies Doc, if I'm giving away trade secrets;. You can slap me in a few weeks..

Further to my question: The band I am playing with now, plays a lot of old punk, and I am trying to find an amp that can really nail the Johnny Ramone sound, who used a Non-MV Superlead 100. Would the remedy be the best choice? Or the SRZ? Or the Maz GT?
