Totally habit forming! I gigged the two-headed setup again last night, and I have to say it seriously kicks butt. Maz Jr for cleans and Remedy for dirt. Holy cow, it rocks my world! Funny thing is, at one point I hit the switch to turn ON the Remedy and I realized I had been playing it all along, and thought I was playing the Maz. I could tell it was not the same, but it was sounding good, so I didn't do anything about it. Both amps rock a different part of my world....

I didn't get to use my Remedy/Maz 18 set up last night. The place was real small with people right up to the band. We also set up late because of a table for 8 was still eating. Hopefully next time.

I guess we have the beginnings of a Remedy/Maz Jr club going!!
I'm running my Remedy thru a 1x12 convertable with the back open, and a Celestion Gold. Holy Moley!!! This thing is outstanding.
If you roll back your guitar's vol knob, you will enter some sweet overtone stuff, then open up the guitar, and it's growlin like a JTM-45.

Yeah, I can use either amp by itself and have a wonderful gig, but as a set - holy moley! It's the best channel switching amp ever devised!

I haven't taken my MAZ to practice or a gig since I got my Remedy. Maybe I need to re-think that!

Either one can sure stand on it's own. However, together, you more than double your fun!!! LOL It also makes a cool looking Dr. Z "stack"!!

This week I had my 1x12 with Celestion G12-65 in it (closed) on the bottom. Next time I play out I'm going with the Celestion Alnico Gold (open) on the bottom. We'll see if I can tell a difference...

Thanks, Mike!
Steve..........The Remedy thru the Gold 1x12 with the back open sounds GREAT. It's a very warm growl. When you back off on your guitar's volume, it sweetens up nicely, with some fine overtones. Pushing things, it's right there in JTM-45/Plexi land.
I've found that it likes humbuckers (read a good Les Paul) and also does very nicely with Strats!! I've really been diggin my Anderson Classic Strat with traditionally voiced single coils thru the Remedy/Gold........man, it just sings!!
A good friend, who has lots of experience doing live sound, and who played bass and toured with Greg Howe in the '80's, heard this rig, and told me he thought it was in the top three BEST sounding live guitar rigs he's ever heard.
However, he said that Rick Derringer's live rig did sound a bit better!!! LOL
Can't win them all!!!! ;D
I'm interested in hearing your impressions after you give it a go thru the Gold, Steve.

Well all of the recordings I've done of the Remedy have been through a Gold, just not the one in my convertible cab is all. I really like that setup with the Maz on top because the Tone Tubby in the Jr is slightly less efficient, so having it at waist level ends up making both speakers sound about the same volume to my ears. Works pretty cool. But I haven't tried that yet with the Remedy on top. But I will...

Is there an amp that the Celestion Gold doesn't sound good with? I must get one at some stage.
