Thinking about an avatar 2x12 open back, with 2 celestion blues to run my Mazerati head through.
Any danger of me blowing these speakers? I play w/volume usually around 12 to 1, tone from 10 to 2 depending on the guitar, but will often drive it fairly hard with boosters and fuzz pedals. I would not dime the volume.
2nd, what if I matched one w/a g12h? Anyone try that match? I currently have a g12h w/a v30, and really like it. But, you know, maybe I'll like the blue more?

I ran my Mazerati through a Vox 2-12 with Celestion Blues with no problems. For me it was the only speaker combination I tried that worked for me. It was a big bold fat sound.

I wouldn't worry about blowing the speakers, but they will distort a little sooner than your G12/V30 combo. I'm using a single G12H30 in my 1x12" combo and couldn't be happier.. the speaker starts to break up shortly after the amp does (around 2:00 depending on where the tone knob is at). For more headroom I add a 12" extension cab with a Tone Tubby - killin'! I bet 2 blues would sound great.

Ohhh man, your supposed to say they sound horrible.. now I'm going to be obsessed over it and start selling idle gear (which I'll regret later) to get the avatar/blues cab!!! Seriously, if I didn't have internet access at work, I would probably save myself a lot of money..

If you're really worried about them taking the heat, Celestion just released their Celestion Gold Alnico 50, and from what I'm hearing, it sounds exactly like the Blue but with a 50 watt handling capacity compared the Blue's 15. professional.celestion.com/guitar/products/alnico/detail.asp?ID=32
