Is it just me, or are any of you other Remedy owners experiencing a humming noise?
I got the Remedy Monday evening and didn't have much play time until last night. Thats when I noticed the hum. I have a DR. Z 2X10 convertible, a DR. Z 1x12 convertible, and a JDesign 1X12. Same hum out of all three. I'm plugged into the same circuit as my Stangray and EZG-50 and no issues with either of these amps.
I have unplugged my entire pedal board and am running strait in?
There is also a loud "pop" sometimes when I turn off the standby switch?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
Dave

I sometimes get a small pop switching the stdby. I get hum in some rooms but about the same as any other amp.

Have you checked your electrical outlet for proper polarity and ground? Every gig bag should have a circuit tester. Rather than go get mine and read off details, a quick google search turned up a few on this site. The less expensive Sperry units should be sufficient. I would spring the extra few bucks for the GFCI enabled one. www.professionalequipment.com/circuit-testers/You can probably find a capable unit at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc., for ten bucks. Get one, even if your amp does not hum. Test every outlet in your house. You may be in for a shock - no pun intended. *edit - And check the tightness of the chassis screws on your hummer.

Thanks for the info Jan! I have one of those testers at work that I can bring home tomorrow. I will tighten those screws on the whole rig at the same time(all amps) I will post results tomorrow Dave

Dave first re-seat each tube one at a time, shipping can rattle all tubes loose.
Then check your electric circuit.
No hum isn't standard on Remedy, actually they are very quiet.
If hum still exists pull the phase inverter that is V3 that last pre-amp tube before the 6V6's and power up.
If hum is there then you have a bad 6V6, if hum is no longer heard then it is a bad/weak 12AX7.
Please call us with your results 216 475 1444.

Well I checked my tubes, tightened chassis screws, checked polarity on my electrical circuit, messed with the Stangray and EZG-50. I realized when I had these two amps up as loud as I have been runnin' the Remedy that I'm getting a hum from my house power Looks like its time to invest in a power conditioner I got a chance this morning to dialog with the good DR. himself. What a wonderful human being. Thanks Doc for taking a few minutes with me and my concerns. I will shop for no other brand of amps Thanks to those of you that resonded to my questions! You just gotta love this place ;D Dave
