I have noticed that my sr is making a strange noise when played through the high input side. If the volume is at 2 and main is turned up to 3/4 if you do sort of a muted thump on the strings (les Paul) humbuckers you get a popping noise. Not sure if it is chassis or speaker, any suggestions ??

Have you any way to try different speakers? From your description that would be one thing that immediately comes to mind.

I havent tryed new speakers. I forgot to mention this amp is like new. I bought it new and have maybe at most put 20 hours on it. It has only left my studio this one time and I have the Road case for it.

It's just that popping noises aren't usually related to your playing technique, which is what made me ask about the speakers. What kind of speakers do you have with this setup?
It could be other stuff, just checking on this first. The other thing you can check right quick is if the chassis bolts have become loose. If they get loose the amp chassis breaks contact with the shield on the inside of the cab, and can cause some static type noise.

Jeez, we should just always, automatically say "It's Tubes" because 97.3% of the time we'd be right without knowing anything else.
