I was rehearsing with my Maz 38 tonight in our lead singers basement. Every now and then I could hear some signal transmissions come through my amp. Either tv or radio, not sure. Is this normal? I have never heard this happen with any other tube amp I've owned. I've owned several twins. The only other class A amp I've owned was a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special. I can't ever remember this happenning.

What kind of cables are you using? Some effects pedals will pick up radio stations... I had a Morley Wah that got a Mexican radio station...
It's the first I've ever heard that on this forum...

I had the same problems with my Maz SR and JR. Seem'd to go away with the cut turned low. I never did really figure it out. Is yours a reverb model? Mine where.

no, not MIM ;-) Reminded me of that song from the 80's though... "I'm on a Mexican Radio..."
Could the pre-tubes be microphonic? Thats one possibility... What are the sources that are next to the amp... Try removing everything from your signal, just go guitar to amp. Try different guitars, different cables, etc...

Played my first gig with it tonight and didn't have a problem picking up any radio signals. Must have been something to do with the house I was przcticing in. My God I was in heaven tonight. Played with the Maz 2X12 combo and the Z best cabinet horizontal underneath. It was a great combination.

i have had this issue, but not with my Z. it happens sometimnes with my Lovepedal 1/2 watt amp, which runs on batteries. i figured it had to do with the batteries, but maybe not. wish i had an explanation. if anyone figures it out i'd be interested to know what causes this to happen. thanks.

Time to invest in new cables and perhaps have your guitar looked at. Sometimes it is just a location thing...

It also has to do with the wiring of your house and the shielding. Voltage isn't a steady constant from one location to the next... And if wiring is old, then the copper may act as a conductor for radio signals.
At least you didn't get a Mexican Radio station like my Morely wah.. ;-)
