Hello fellow Dr. Z Fans,
I have noticed something that has been continuing to bother me. It has been since my Remedy arrived. Therefore, I just thought it was normal, but is it normal for me to NOT see one of the pre-amp tubes glowing from the inside of the container?
The one I am talking about is the 12ax7 the closest to the 1st 6v6 power amp tube. If you look in there you will see the first 2 pre amps tubes, and a space, then the last pre amp tube. It is the last pre amp tube I am not see the glow from.
Is there a reason for this? I am not noticing any sound problems. Oscillations, Microphonic sound. (although, I have not opened her up and tapped it)
Now that I am noticing this, and thinking more about it, I am worried.
Let me know any input.
Troy.

Nothing to worry about at all. Different tubes are built differently and in some, it seems, it is harder to see the filaments than in others. If you hear sound, I guarantee the filaments are working fine. You just can't see them because of the construction of the tube. Enjoy your amp.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Years ago on my first Maz Jr. I had problems with the reverb. I figured out that it was the 12AT7 tube and I replaced it, tested the amp and it worked, but then I noticed that the PI tube wasn't glowing and I had a gig so I called Z... I was in a little panic... and he told me that the tube I had in there wouldn't glow like the rest and he assured me in the way he does, that I could do the gig without that tube glowing! ;D He then took the time to tell me what he was recommending in each tube socket at the time. YEP!! I know EXACTLY how you felt!!
