Does anyone know if the Weber AlNiCo Blue Dog 50W comes in 8ohm or 16 ohm or each? If so, which should I purchase for the 1 X 12 MAZ 38SR with reverb? I'm definitely going to get this speaker, it seems to have everyone's vote for the best all around fit for my amp. I am a hardcore Chicago Blues fanatic, and I'm looking for something that is a little gritty.

It comes 16, 8 or 4 ohm. Webers are great speakers and a very good value. Go here and click on the British Series. taweber.powweb.com/weber/Read the description carefully.

make sure to really pound it...........especially the 50 watt version. takes extra long to break in, but, the wait is well worth it.
I love mine in my JR. ( 30 watt version)

Weber are speakers, can certainly take a lot of abuse and AlNiCo Blue Dog is a fantastic speaker. Love mine.

Hey guys,
How bad of an idea is it to pair the Maz Sr with a 30 watt Blue Dog? Is the 50 watt a better choice?

I think you could probably do it safely. I've seen MAZ Sr. amps with a single G12H Anniversary, and that's a 30 watt speaker. You could always email Weber to get his opinion.

I emailed Ted last week asking him to suggest a power rating for 2 blue dogs that I am going to put in a 2x12 box... I am going to be using my RT66 as well as my newly ordered Maz 38 and my 100w Egnater so I need the speakers to cover quite a lot of ground... He suggested 30w Blues with Pre Rola treatment.
Cheers
