Here's my first post... I just bought a used maz invasion 38 and it's on the way. It's a 2x12 combo loaded with celestion G12s. I've been using a maz 18 2x10 for three years now. I play fulltime and have owned many amps. The 18 is my first Z and I love it. When I bought the 38 invasion I was looking for a Sr 38 and may have jumped the gun. But maybe not... I've read the invasion is much cleaner than the Maz Sr and this has me worried. I usually gig with a LP standard and play clean most of the time IE vol 12pm, master, 9pm. I ride the guitars volume to control the amount of gain. Now since I'm not pushing the amp to overdrive that much maybe the Invasion will still have plenty of gain for me? Are there any Invasion players out there who could help me put a positive spin on my incoming Z?

Hello my friend i have a maz invasion. although it's much cleaner than my maz senior, you could experiment with different tube combinations, for a dirtier sound.I use a sovtek 12ax7lp in v1,a jj 12ax7 in v2,gt12at7 in v3,a eh12ax7 in v4 and a jj12ax7 in v5,also i use eh el84,s for power.I also use either a pro co rat pedal or a bb preamp depends on how i feel.also i normally turn up the volume to 12:00 and master volume to 3:00 play around with the master and volume you will find the tone you are looking for,the invasion is a beautiful amp with many possibilities experiment and you will find your tone it's in there beleive me. hope this helped allittle.george
