hi, im looking for an amp with reverb and a master volume. i just play at home, so the master is nice to keep it quiet.
i want an amp with somewhat higher wattage to get some clean headroom, but also want to be able to turn it up and get some killer blues like SRV..
i dont like to use pedals, so id like it to get dirty blues sounds without one
is this the z that would best fit or another one.

Well, listen to the John Mayall and the Blues Breakers clips on the DRZ Amps website, or buy BW's new CD... He pretty much plugs directly into the amp. I think BW's new CD will give you every facet of what that amp can do as well as give you listening enjoyment of some of the finest guitar playing you've ever heard in a long time. www.myspace.com/buddywhittingtonHope this helps.

um, I love my MAZ but it is probably more amp than anybody needs for just playing at home. A 12-18W amp will have plenty of headroom.
Just my opinion of course.

I recommend doing some more homework. I love the Maz 38 and for certain applications it's the clear choice. I play mostly in my rehearsal studio and there is no way to crank the Maz without using heavy attenuation. OK, well, that will work but what the heck, that's like driving a race car with the brakes on, yes, no!? I just don't like the idea of running 4 power tubes hot with the brakes on, seems like such a waste of energy and power tubes. So I opted for a couple of the 18 watt Z amps and this last one with a Master/Volume is the ticket for me. I can get the cranked tone without attenuation at very reasonable volumes, no ear bleeds.
