OK hears a more straight forward lean to this.... Pearl Jam "ten" to SRV sound. I havent really been satisfied with the amps I own teamed up with my strat so Im really looking for a lower wattage strat amp. Any DR. Z recommendations 30 watts and below and these two... Reeves Custom 10 hg and Badcat Lil 15.
NO offense Im really leaning toward the docs amps, but i just had to put these two in there just in case.... thanks scott
amps in the bull pin now... Blackheart lil giant with 3 way mod VHT deliverance 120 Marshall 1959 Plexi great for funk and pedals but way to loud

Have a look at a Maz18nr or a Z28, both should get somewhere near those tones.

I suggest the Prescription Junior Strength ("RxJr") with a 1x12 cab or 2x10 cab or both. A pretty powerful 15 watts with an amazing master volume. And I think you'll love a Strat through the RxJr. Sounds very Jimi/Marshall-y. In fact, I often play along with a backing track of PJ's "Better Man" and I can nail that song's Strat tone through the RxJr.

Thanks again benttop, is it just my ears or does the Rxjr have a bit more treble? I think I might be leaning towards it now ( a never ending quest for that elusive "tone") ;D

I think I might be leaning towards it now ( a never ending quest for that elusive "tone") ;D Both can be pretty bright. The Maz Jr is usually set with its Cut control at around 9 o'clock - if I start twisting it to the right it gets real bright, real fast. I don't know which is brighter, but both have more than enough top end.

check out my sound clip that posted of my cranked RXES in the sounds section. It gives you a good look at how the RXES sounds cranked pretty hard.
