I took the plunge and picked up a Maz 38 Sr NR (Red w/Salt + Pepper). To quote another reviewer on Harmony Central: H--- S---!!!
The sonic richness of this amp is remarkable. I had used it once (our first date if you will) at a large outdoor show and was getting many unsolicited comments about great tone and the ability of the guitar to cut through. Last night I used it in a studioish setting doing a jam; the room was loud and there was a lot of dense stuff going on (synthed guitar, turntables [that's right: turntables; a first for me], horn, electronic drums). The Z cut through it all and absolutely didn't need reverb to sound rich. The other guitar player commented that he loved the way the amp cut through; usually you just hear 'That thing was LOUD'; which it was but I had such control over the dynamics through touch and volumne knob that it was really unbelievable. Putting a Parker Fly Mojo through an Evidence Audio Lyric HG cable into the simple, rich signal chain of the Z the tone was just fantastic.
Anyway, I'll write more as I use this more; now I'm figuring: sell more gear and get a Jr. for smaller settings or to A/B for clean vs. dirt.
Speaking of clean vs. dirt: at one point I put the gain at about 4 o' clock and master at say 9 'o clock. With guitar running full I was getting a rich breakup: not distortion just an amp running hot; wind the guitar down to about 50% and I was getting a (still) rich clean tone. Amazing.

Congrats on the amp! I've been saying (here and other places) for a long time that the MAZ Sr. sounds as good as any black face Twin Reverb I've ever heard. I play mine through a Z-Best and it's beautiful!
