Hi, I just finished converting my Maz 38 SR combo to a head unit. The reason for the mismatch in color is because I had originally purchased a custom purple cabinet. The cab back panel vibrated wildly and made the cab useless for recording. I returned the custom purple cab and decided to go with a red Z-Best. I still think it looks cool! What do ya think? -Ashevilleguy [/img] img300.imageshack.us/my.php?image=maz38seniorconverskf2.jpg

Where did you find the head cab for the conversion?

Thanks Guys! I made it myself. I bought all the parts from Mojo accept the wood for the head. I bought the Baltic birch ply locally and had a friend cut and dovetail it. I did the tolex and the rest of the assembly. The tolex was a pain in the a$$. A first time job. I am happy with the results. The Z-Best is perfect! The fan and the reverb tank were installed like in the MAz combo. I bought the amp new in 2003 and decided to upgrade it to a head unit with an external speaker cab. This is one bada$$ amp! Since then I have sold my other amps. They consisted of a Marshall '73 Superlead and soon to be sold '59 tweed Vibrolux. I am able to set the Maz 38 SR to a very slight break up and use stomp boxes to overdrive it. I can get all the sounds I need from its very versatile single channel from clean to overdrive. A have to play with the guitar volume just slightly to get it to clean up, but works perfectly with my style. The master vol is very helpful.
